about

Hobo Sack of Daggers was Nick Martin, Alex Shaw and Phil Shaw having the time of their lives in Dr. Pat Martin’s basement at the now relinquished (how sad, sad) Emerson house in Denver. The tracks were recorded live and at punishing volume.

“Drugs and Ladders” is built around Nick’s opening riff and has killed at least one amplifier. Three minutes of sustained badassedness, then a moment of calm followed by a few more minutes of righteous hell.

“Blood Flood of the Negasus” meditates on the horse at the airport mythology. When The Za’pocalypse eclipses the futures of the faithful, the horse baptizes Denver in blood vomit. (Your enjoyment of this song will be directly proportional to your understanding of this concept.)
